There’s no doubt that South Korean food has become very popular in the US. According to Statista, the rise in the cuisine’s popularity began around 2010. By 2019 37% of Americans said that Korean cuisine is very popular in the US. Many shoppers search for the best Korean foods, but some items are still hard to find. So, where is the best place to shop for Korean food?

You may be surprised to learn that Costco is a destination for stocking up on popular Korean foods. In fact, Costco has 19 locations in South Korea and has brought many products to its US locations. The chain stocks dozens of Korean products that have become mainstream favorites. You can find a variety of products including kimchi, bulgogi, dumplings, and more. Plus, Costco not only makes Korean foods accessible but also affordable. Here are 5 of the best Korean foods to purchase at Costco.

1. Bibigo Beef Bulgogi Dumplings

Costco carries a variety of Bibigo brand products including KBBQ fried rice, chicken and cilantro wontons, and beef bulgogi dumplings. The dumplings are some of the best in terms of flavorful filling. The soy-marinated beef dumplings are extra large and are bursting with beef and vegetables. Many say that these dumplings are restaurant quality. They pair well with dipping sauces as well.

2. Orion Chocomont

These chocolate-covered biscuits by Orion are hard to find outside of Korea, so many shoppers were delighted when Costco started carrying them. The crunchy biscuits are mushroom-shaped and are a nostalgic children’s favorite that many adults still enjoy.

3. Melona Ice Cream

Melona ice cream is a favorite Korean treat. The brand started out with its honeydew flavor in the 90s and has since added flavors like coconut, mango, strawberry, and more. What makes Melona different than other fruit bars is its creaminess and gelato-like texture. It’s the perfect refreshing snack in the summer. You can also transform Melona bars into daiquiris and floats. Try pouring a sparkling soda or Sprite over a mango Melona bar to create a fun, fizzy float. They are also delicious melted down in desserts like panna cotta.

4. Buldak Carbonara

Buldak carbonara is a Korean ramen that has a spicy and creamy sauce. The spicy chicken-flavored Buldak noodles are combined with a creamy carbonara sauce that will satisfy any craving. It’s quick and easy to make as well. Plus, there are many recipes you can try using Buldak noodles, many of which have gone viral on TikTok.

5. Goguma Snacks

These chewy sweet potato sticks are a favorite Korean snack. They are made of 100% sweet potato and salted for a sweet and savory flavor. Plus, they’re organic, low fat, and have no added sugars. You can find them at Costco for $11.99.

Best Korean Foods

Are you surprised with how many Korean foods are available at Costco? The chain has put an emphasis on carrying a wide variety of Asian foods. Not only are many of their customers Asian, but many of their younger shoppers are curious to try cuisines from all over the world.
