I spent the past 20 years trying to answer three questions:

  1. How did the rich get rich?
  2. Why are the poor, poor? and
  3. How do Rich People and Poor People spend their time every day?

I learned a lot.

Much of the data I gathered over my five-year Rich Habits Study indicated that what separated the rich from the poor was their daily habits, their abundance vs. scarcity mindset and the choices/decisions they made in life.

A secondary discovery I made, specifically with respect to how the rich got rich, was that there were one of four Paths to Wealth, tied to your particular personality profile, that led to wealth creation. If you desired wealth and chose the right path to wealth, the one aligned to your particular personality, then you were almost assured of becoming wealthy, or at least gaining financial independence when you retired.

Still, I am persistently asked by the media if I discovered any “Secret” to building wealth.

After much thought, I did discover a secret, and here it is:

The Secret to Building Wealth can be summarized with just two words:

Steady & Relentless

  • Steady & Relentless Learning – Formal (Course/Curriculum/Degree) or Informal (Self-Study)
  • Steady & Relentless Pursuit of Dreams
  • Steady & Relentless Achievement of the Goals Behind Each Dream You Are Pursuing
  • Steady & Relentless Focus on Your Destination – Who or What You Want to Become in Ten, Fifteen or Twenty years
  • Steady & Relentless Focused Action – Taking Daily Action on Your Dreams & Goals
  • Steady & Relentless Building of Each Singular Stream of Income – One Income Stream at a Time
  • Steady & Relentless Building of Relationships With Influencers – An Influencer is Anyone Who Can Help Your Realize Your Dreams and Achieve Your Goals.
  • Steady & Relentless Saving & Investment – Maintaining a standard of living that allows you to save money, which you prudently invest
