Is Walmart Open on Labor Day 2024?

Summer is winding down, but there is still one holiday that we all look forward to. Labor Day may mark the end of summer for many of us, but you don’t need to mourn the season just yet. You still have a chance to get some much-needed fun in the sun before fall is here. Since the weather is still nice, many of my family and friends take advantage to grill out and get out on the water. But if you don’t plan ahead, your day may be interrupted by shopping trips for more supplies. When you are looking for stores near you, you may be wondering “Is Walmart open on Labor Day 2024?”

Are You Hosting Labor Day 2024?

Although I usually prefer to attend the barbecue, I have hosted my share of holidays as well. And any host will tell you how stressful this can be. I typically spend the day before cleaning and rushing around to set up the space to ensure everyone will be comfortable. However, I try to avoid crowds and buy all my ingredients days before I need to prepare the feast.

However, it seems like I always manage to forget something and need to make a same-day trip to the store.  This can become even more stressful since it can be hard to find stores that aren’t closed on the holidays. If your usual spots are closed, you may have to look elsewhere. Luckily, Walmart is usually there to save the day.

Is Walmart Open on Labor Day 2024?

Yes, Walmart is open on Labor Day 2024.

Walmart is one store that we have all come to rely on for emergency purchases. Even if you are throwing a last-minute party, Walmart can help you pull it together with food and decor. Hours tend to vary by location, but most Walmarts across the nation will have normal business hours. To check the nearest locations and hours, you can use their store locator tool here. If you don’t feel like spending time in the store, you can also order online and have the items ready for in-store pick-up to help you get in and out.

This is great news since you can find everything you need in one place. Whether you need to replenish food and beverage items, get more fuel for the grill, or find swimwear and pool floats to help you enjoy the day, Walmart has you covered. Just be aware that some in-store services like the bakery or deli may be closed or have reduced hours for the holiday.

Remaining Walmart Holiday Hours 2024

While you will need to check for specific hours for each location, most Walmart locations have regular operating hours through the holidays. The only exceptions to these would be Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and Christmas Eve.

  • Labor Day: Monday, September 2 (regular hours)
  • Columbus Day: Monday, October 14 (regular hours)
  • Veteran’s Day: Monday, November 11 (regular hours)
  • Thanksgiving Day: Thursday, November 28 (closed)
  • Black Friday: Friday, November 29 (extended hours)
  • Christmas Eve: Tuesday, December 24 (12 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
  • Christmas Day: Wednesday, December 25 (closed)
  • New Year’s Eve: Tuesday, December 31 (regular hours)

And don’t forget to look for holiday deals while you’re there. Although they haven’t announced anything yet, Walmart usually offers holiday discounts. Even if you have to step away from the celebrations, finding a good deal can make the inconvenience well worth it.
