A new Wells Fargo report found that hosting a Super Bowl party this year for 10 people will cost around $139. So, to stay on budget you’ll need to plan to use cheap ingredients and simple recipes. For example, you’ll probably want to avoid certain Super Bowl Sunday foods, like deviled eggs since eggs are so expensive right now. Here we’ll give you 9 ideas for Super Bowl Sunday food that is both cheap and delicious. 

1. Pigs in a Blanket

You don’t need to buy expensive frozen appetizers. Pigs in a blanket are so easy to make yourself. Check out this Walmart game day extravaganza bundle for just $8 per person. You’ll get lil’ smokies and crescent rolls you need for pigs in a blanket, plus Tostitos chips, mac and cheese, and more.

2. Mac and Cheese Bites

With this recipe for mac and cheese bites, you’ll take delicious mac and cheese and make it into finger food. If you don’t want to make homemade mac & cheese, you can use boxed mac and cheese as well. These bites are cost-effective and totally customizable, just throw in your favorite toppings and you can even make a spicy ketchup for dipping.

3. Spinach and Artichoke Dip

Another easy game-day food is classic spinach and artichoke dip. To cut costs, you can use frozen spinach and canned artichokes. Just make sure to dry your frozen spinach before baking the dip. 

4. Buffalo Chicken Dip

You can’t go wrong with warm buffalo chicken dip. This buffalo chicken dip is best served with Frito corn chips. An easy shortcut that’s cost-effective for buffalo chicken dip is to use a pre-made rotisserie chicken and shred it.

A fun interactive idea for Super Bowl Sunday food is a loaded baked potato bar. Potatoes are not only filling but also cheap! You can choose toppings like bacon bits, cheese, sour cream, green onions, olives, and more. You can even incorporate broccoli, which is down in price by 7%. Just prep some baked potatoes in the oven or air fryer and let your guests assemble their own loaded potatoes.

6. Crispy Buffalo Broccoli Wings

Since the cost of chicken wings has increased, why not make a vegetarian version? These crispy buffalo broccoli wings are sure to be a crowd-pleaser. This recipe is also gluten-free and vegan in case your guests have dietary restrictions. Feel free to substitute these ingredients if dairy products or regular flour and breadcrumbs are cheaper at the grocery store. For a Kansas City twist, use BBQ sauce instead of buffalo sauce.

7. Stuffed Celery

Celery is often an overlooked Super Bowl food, only seen as a side dish for wings. But, what if we told you that celery could be the star ingredient at your party? Since the cost of celery is down 8% it’s a smart budget-friendly food to consider making. This stuffed celery appetizer is similar to jalapeno poppers but costs less to make. Plus, they can be made ahead of time.

8. White Bean Dip

Another way to save money is to use what you have in your pantry. This white bean dip uses beans you probably already have. Drain two cans of cannellini or northern beans and rinse them. Process in a food processor or blender with three cloves of peeled garlic, 1/2 cup olive oil, the juice of 1 lemon, and a 1/2 cup of flat-leaf parsley. This dip should be smooth and is best served with pita chips.

9. Philly Cheesesteak Sliders

If you’re rooting for the Eagles, Philly cheesesteaks are a must for your Super Bowl spread. To save money on the steak, you can you economical skirt steak. This recipe by the Pioneer Woman is delicious and affordable.
